Session Abstract (150 words):
Monitoring and Evaluation System plays an integral role in the leadership development of young girls and women. It forms the basis for creating effective programming strategies geared towards developing the leadership capacity of young girls in building transformative ways towards development.
Monitoring and Evaluation systems has been very prudent in our project design and implementation towards building the capacity of 200 young girls in the Sagnurigu and Nanumba districts of Ghana, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to influence change in their communities. In our programming, we maintain a robust M& E system by conducting baseline studies, continuous monitoring and mid-term/post evaluations, which has proven to be very effective in identifying :
- areas for adjustments and improvement
- an evidence-based decision making tool in our program strategies
- contribute to the deviation from the concept of sole judgment by engaging all stakeholders in our program implementation.
This presentation clearly outlines the role of M&E systems as the foundation for an evidence-based strategy in young girls leadership development and how it is employed in achieving excellent results.
