Session Abstract (150 words):

R is powerful software for data analysis and visualization that has come to be used widely in many fields. However, its use in evaluation remains relatively limited. This workshop is design to help evaluators appreciate the power of R and master the basics of using it. It will be a hands-on introduction to R, with short demonstrations interspersed with practical exercises that attendees will complete on their own laptops. We will cover importing data, data wrangling and analysis, and data visualization in R. Attendees will also learn to use RMarkdown, an incredibly powerful tool that allows all data work, from importing to final reporting, to happen in R. Attendees will leave the workshop ready to use R to wrangle, analyze, visualize, and report on data in their own work.
