Session Abstract (150 words):

Too often our clients pre-determine the type of research activities they will use and then use a reverse engineering process to make their research goal or questions fit. This restrictive approach limits our clients from applying non-traditional research methods due to lack of awareness and understanding of application. QED has developed a process to selecting research activities by scoping out clients’ research goals and defining what our clients’ really need to know and for what purpose to determine data requirements, research rigor and resource limitations to select appropriate research activities.

During this session, QED will share a set of core questions researchers can use to help clients consider the various research activity options available and make an informed decision to select the best option(s). Participants will have the opportunity to use this technique in pairs or groups with a given research scenario.
