Session Abstract (150 words):

The number of frameworks which an organization can use to evaluate their social impact is growing at a tremendous clip, keeping pace with the exploding interest in innovative models to improve social sector outcomes. However, the field has not landed on a “one-size-fits all” framework and is unlike to ever land on one given the diversity of needs and constraints.

In 2018, Third Sector reviewed the multitude of frameworks in the field, teased out best practices and pitfalls of each, and created a new framework on which to measure the results of our consulting engagements to improve the way social services are contracted for and delivered across the United States.

In this session, we will walk through the process, a comparison of existing frameworks, our conclusions, and the lessons learned for public, private, and government organizations who try to capture the effects of the important work they undertake.
