Session Abstract (150 words):

From health to education to the environment, youth are often central stakeholders in evaluations carried out in schools, civic organizations and communities. And yet, youth are not often at the table when evaluations are designed, carried out and analyzed. This session will be a discussion facilitated by both youth and adults involved in evaluations that meaningfully and consistently engage youth across a variety of contexts and evaluation designs. The focus of the discussion will be on strategies for how organizations can facilitate authentic youth agency in evaluation in areas such as training, contracting, budgets, staffing, compensation, IRB and other legal and compliance considerations, and organizational culture. Participants will be expected to bring their own experiences, strategies and/or questions to the discussion.
