Session Abstract (150 words):
Much has happened in 2017 and 2018 that affects federal evaluation policy. In 2017 the US Commission on Evidence-Based Policymaking issued its final report to the President and Congress with recommendations to institutionalize evaluation in the federal government. The Executive Branch advanced proposals to reform evaluation practice as part of a high-profile government reorganization proposal. Congress is considering legislation that would require federal departments to identify chief evaluation officers and to develop evaluation policies. This session will offer perspectives from three experts about the activities underway in the federal government through legislative and administrative vehicles.
