Session Abstract (150 words):

Rapid Feedback Evaluation (RFE) includes reviewing existing data and collecting new data on program performance to make improvements during implementation and to inform other evaluation activities. The Division of Violence Prevention at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has successfully institutionalized Rapid Feedback Evaluation across programs to produce timely and actionable information. Key steps to institutionalization included identifying priority areas for RFE during program planning, establishing criteria for RFE to address emergent issues during implementation, and ensuring use of RFE findings for program improvement. DVP has integrated RFE with its knowledge translation efforts to improve technical assistance, guidance, and other products offered to funding recipients, and has resulted in increased use of evaluation by program staff for continuous program improvement. This demonstration will provide tools and examples from DVP programs to illustrate how an organization could institutionalize RFE and conduct RFE at various points of a program life cycle.
