Session Abstract (150 words):
What is the best way to harness the content expertise of your program team to develop a high-quality evaluation instrument? This session will demonstrate a process for developing an evaluation instrument collaboratively with program team members. To help illustrate this process, presenters will share an example of the steps we followed to develop an instrument to measure equity-based leadership behaviors for school and district leaders. The presenters will provide an overview of the different phases of this method, and considerations for ensuring that a range of voices are heard and incorporated into the tool. We will share a facilitation protocol used by the working group to draft initial instrument content, and criteria used for reviewing and refining items.
