Session Abstract (150 words):  Too often we are pressed for time at the end of our studies and do not give adequate attention to developing the conclusions and recommendations that are likely to have the most impact. In this half-day advanced workshop, we will explore theory and techniques that can be applied to maximizing the impact of evaluation results for clients. Using a policy perspective, participants will discuss considerations when drawing conclusions and will think about strategies to develop meaningful recommendations. We will explore constraints and biases that work against useful study outcomes; review a policy framework and a draft policy checklist; discuss strategies to marshal evidence and develop astute recommendations; and apply the checklist to a brief case study. Participants will take away some fresh ideas as well as some useful tools and techniques to increase the utilization of evaluation findings in their own evaluation contexts.
