Session Abstract (150 words): 

Evaluators must always be concerned with actual and potential conflicts of interests (COI) and must deal with them openly and honestly so that they do not compromise the evaluation processes and results. COI includes situations in which financial or other personal considerations may compromise, or have the appearance of compromising, an evaluator's judgment in conducting the evaluation and/or reporting the findings. COI exists regardless of whether the evaluator’s judgment and behavior can be demonstrated to have adversely influenced the evaluation, but instead, it exists simply as a condition of the evaluator having competing interests. There are two major areas of COI generally considered in the evaluation field including financial and professional COI. In this Think Tank, we propose a third COI, cultural conflict of interest and seek to engage with participants to further refine and discuss this concept and generate examples from dominate racial, academic and methodological cultures.

Fax request to (202) 367-2173. All refunds are processed after the meeting. After October 16, 2017 all sales are final. For Evaluation 2017, international attendees and presenters who encounter complications due to the international travel environment will have up to 30 days after the event to request a refund and submit appropriate documentation. No administrative fee will apply for the international requests. The $50 fee will be waived for registrants who planned to travel into the US and experienced international travel issues.
