Session Abstract (150 words):
According to USASpending.gov, 2.9 billion dollars were spent on Program Evaluation in FY2016. While there is opportunity for evaluators interested in consulting for the Federal Government, navigating the Federal procurement process can be overwhelming, requires a specific skill-set, and there are few resources available to support independent evaluators and small businesses interested in the Federal sector. This skill-building workshop will help participants build foundational skills and infrastructure necessary to pursue Federal work. First, we will provide general tips for working with the Federal government. Then, participants will select one of two interactive break-out sessions: (1) Participants with limited experience with the Government will create a 1-page capabilities statement, learn how to search FedBizOpps, and register with the System for Awards Management, (2) participants with Federal experience will participate in a question and answer session with Subject Matter Experts with over 14 years of experience working with the Federal government.
