Session Abstract (150 words):

Evaluators and social enterprises must work together to bridge the gap between the two worlds to engage effectively. During this panel, the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan (WDI) Performance Measurement Initiative is flipping the script and facilitating discussions with two Latin American enterprises to share their experiences and lessons learned when co-creating pilot studies to assess their impact with evaluators. Social enterprises operate with limited resources and, often, the nitty-gritty details of evaluation are new to them. So, how can evaluators and social enterprises work together to elicit critical buy-in and leverage their respective strengths? Panelists will reflect on their recent partnership with WDI to collect data on social and business indicators. Panelists will also share what they wish evaluators knew, their thoughts on key metrics, data collection challenges, trainings received, and strategic decision-making.
