Session Abstract:

The presenters will demonstrate how the intentional design of technology can both integrate and support program development and evaluation.  Presenters will provide real life examples of iPad-based data collection tools that provide valuable and immediate feedback and reports to program staff and those they serve.  The settings in these examples include school-based health centers, classrooms serving pregnant and parenting teens, and community mental health clinics. The project and evaluation team developed iPad-based data collection suites that allow for a single application to administer a variety of different tools and provide immediate, user-friendly feedback and reports. This allows for data to be collected at a more granular level to support implementation and then aggregated for evaluation and reporting purposes.  As demonstrated in this presentation, these technologies not only allow evaluation activities to be more efficient and informative, but also directly assist in the implementation of the initiative itself.
