Session Abstract:

The purpose of this think tank is to explore the potential for developing an open source repository for information about evaluation capacity building (ECB) programs and practices, including strategies for working with individuals and organizations, curricula, and assessments. The target audience includes ECB practitioners, researchers, and theorists.  Participants will be asked to share their views about (1) the value and purpose of an ECB Commons and (2) specific design elements that would serve the interests and needs of diverse stakeholders in AEA’s ECB community (e.g., ECB practitioners and clients, funders, other evaluators). In addition to giving shape to the concept of an ECB Commons, another desirable outcome is the identification of a working group that will continue to develop the idea and report on its progress at AEA 2017.
