Session Abstract: 

The funder-grantee relationship can be a powerful partnership that influences program and evaluation design. In this session, we will first explore how success is defined in the context of the funder-grantee relationship. Then, each presenter will share a powerful example of a successful, or unsuccessful, relationship, providing pragmatic reflections on what made it success or failure. This Think Tank session—facilitated by professionals from a broad range of backgrounds, including nonprofit executive, foundation staff, independent evaluator, and government staff—will engage participants in a discussion of a series of questions on the topic, concluding with a call to action.
