Session Abstract:

How can I build stakeholder interest in funder-mandated evaluations of a complex, multi-site program? During this session, attendees will explore this question using the Community HealthCorps (CHC) AmeriCorps program as an example. CHC AmeriCorps members serve in independent organizations nationwide, giving stakeholders some power to repudiate funder-mandated evaluations. To further add to the program’s complexity, each placement site focuses on different health needs and has a unique program implementation model. Each breakout group will discuss these and other contextual factors in relation to engaging the needs and interests of a particular stakeholder level, such as a national or local program manager, placement site CEO, or AmeriCorps member.

Kellie Perkins, the session Facilitator, is the CHC Research/Data Associate building stakeholder engagement for program evaluation by facilitating learning communities and group training sessions. Emmalou Norland, the Co-Facilitator, is CHC’s external evaluator and has worked as an evaluator for over 30 years.
