Session Abstract:

Back by popular demand! At Eval14 in Denver, two of evaluation’s leading data visualization experts introduced the Data Visualization Checklist to a standing-room-only crowd. The 25-item Checklist, grounded in peer reviewed research and best practices, was developed through a months-long vetting process which included feedback from more than 20 evaluators from a variety of content areas and experience levels.

At Eval15, I’ll provide an encore presentation: brand new examples, brand new chart remakes, and the same classic principles that are guaranteed to transform cluttered graphs into easy-to-read communication tools. Attendees will leave the session with a clear understanding of the elements that create effective data visualizations, within accessible software programs, and with the reliable backing of both research and practice.
