Session Abstract:

In this Think Tank, we will tackle the following questions: What barriers keep consultants from collaborating more, why are they there and what can we do to change that?

Systems thinking and networked leadership insights teach us that collaboration is vital to moving social change efforts forward. And, many leading social change efforts these days involve hiring consultants to advise on matters of strategy, evaluation, finance, fundraising, communications, organizational design and infrastructure. Unless they turn to “full service” consulting firms that offer expertise in all of these areas, most organizations and institutions hiring consultants find themselves patching together consultants or consulting teams in an as-needed, more or less ad hoc, manner.  The goal of this Think Tank is to learn from one another about how we can be more effective social-change makers.
